MILL FIXTURES
Mill Fixture – Hold Fixture – NC Fixture – Workholding
Mill Fixtures are most readily used to securely hold a production part onto the table of a CNC machine table to provide rigidity and repeatability when machining. These tools are used for accurately trimming, milling, drilling parts in a highly efficient manner. There are multiple methods for securing the part to the mill fixture; hydraulic and pneumatic swing clamps, toggle assemblies, vacuum and a number of unique and custom fasteners are most used.
Design considerations: Ergonomics, Rate &Takt-Time, Safety, Single minute exchange of Die (SMED), Poka-Yoke and Fail safe part loading.
Common tooling material: Aluminum, Steel, Cast Iron, REN tooling board
